Vincent Bohanan & The Sound of Victory
Gospel music, the most characteristic expression of spirituality of the American communities, is one of the key moments of Umbria Jazz Winter with the performance in the Cathedral of Orvieto on New Year’s afternoon.
“To spread the victorious gospel of Jesus Christ” through music. This is the purpose stated by Vincent Bohanan, who founded The Sound of Victory Fellowship Choir in January 2014 by selecting around fifty young singers from the New York metropolitan area. Since then, the Choir has recorded with important personalities of the American gospel universe, such as Ce Ce Winans. Moreover, it has taken part in Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas” Tour, and it has been a guest at Bishop Hezekiah Walker’s annual Resurrection Sunday Concert, together with many celebrity gospel artists. In addition, the Choir has performed live in the USA and Europe and participated in significant TV programs. Its third single, “We Win: The Kingdom Declaration”, premiered at #1 on the Billboard’s Single’s Chart, and the Choir was nominated for two Stellar Awards in 2018. The first live EP, “Road to 5”, was three-time nominated at the Stellar Awards in 2019. “Live in Chicago” was released in 2021.
