Massimo Moriconi “MODALITA’ TRIO” – Nico Gori, Ellade Bandini

"DUET" EMILIA ZAMUNER & MASSIMO MORICONI "MODALITA' TRIO" NICO GORI, MASSIMO MORICONI, ELLADE BANDINI Two different formulas with the common denominator of Massimo Moriconi, a figure of great tradition in Italian jazz. Moriconi is a maestro of double bass, well-known to the Umbria Jazz public for having seen him in many editions in duo with Renato Sellani, but we must at least remember his long artistic partnership with Mina. In the "ModalitàTrio", Nico Gori and Ellade Bandini perform with him. If we consider the clarinet, it is unlikely that the first name that comes to mind is not that of Nico Gori. This Florentine musician has expressed himself at the highest levels in the most varied situations - big bands, symphony orchestras and jazz groups - both as leader and as a much sought-after sideman, ranging from classical music to jazz, from funky to acid jazz. He has collaborated and collaborates with musicians such as Tom Harrell, Lee Konitz, Enrico Rava, Stefano Bollani. In his first album as leader, "Groovin' High" (2003), with him were Ellade Bandini and Massimo Moriconi. Bandini is an experienced, long-standing musician who has passed through the chronicles of jazz and songwriting for decades. Bandini has been a memorable collaborator of Guccini, Vecchioni, Mina, Edoardo Bennato, Fabrizio de André. In "Duet" Moriconi performs with the vocalist Emilia Zamuner, proclaimed best young talent at the Premio Vitavita and winner of the contest named after Massimo Urbani. More than a promise, therefore, an established musician who thus explains her relationship with jazz song: "it fully expresses my way of being". The formula of the vocals-double bass duo is not very common and promises an intriguing atmosphere of sound.
