King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys

You don’t have to be American to perform swing, R&B, blues, or jive. King Pleasure and The Biscuit Boys have shown for years that you can also be British. The band formed in the 80s, and the lineup isn’t the same as it was. However, the lineup change didn’t alter their convinced mission and musical identity. Their mission is to play with irony, cheerfulness, and rhythm to spread a good mood and make people dance. Their identity is to recreate the style of the big orchestras that performed in the American dance halls at the end of the Swing Era, orchestras such as Lucky Millinder’s, Buddy Johnson’s, and Louis Jordan’s. King Pleasure and The Biscuit Boys are considered the best swing and R&B band outside the USA and are appreciated by fans of this genre. They released albums and appeared on TV and radio. They are sought after by clubs, festivals, public and private events, weddings, and business conventions. Their ability to best play the role, even aesthetically, must not overshadow the musical talent, the study, the perfection of style, and the group cohesion. Everything looks easy on stage, but it is not at all.
