Robben Ford Band

Five Grammy nominations, three decades of solo career, collaborations with Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell, George Harrison, Kiss, Bob Dylan, but not only this: Ford is among the hundred most important guitarists of the 20th century, according to Musician, and is a founding member of the Yellowjackets, one of the most successful fusion bands. There is no doubt that Robben Ford is a guitar hero of our times: a very popular guitarist who, when on stage, unites technique and heart, as is asked of a true bluesman. And it is the blues that is at the centre of the sound universe of Ford, who has, however, consigned his name to the history of rock, jazz and fusion. Ford's roots lie in the great heritage of American popular music, which he assimilated as a child by following in his father's footsteps: his father Charles was also a blues guitarist and Robben began to play in his band in San Francisco at an early age. His hiring with two blues legends, Charlie Musselwhite and Jimmy Witherspoon, were the first steps of what would become an extraordinary career. A long-time California resident, Ford has now moved to one of the cradles of American popular music, Nashville, in search of new inspiration. With excellent results. On this tour, Ford is presenting his latest album, released a few months ago with the title,  Purple House. In order to record some of the songs he went with the whole band to the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

Alex Britti & Max Gazzè special guest Manu Katché and Flavio Boltro

"On a Mission from God" will see Alex Britti and Max Gazzè once again on the same stage as in 2017 when they played  two concerts together at the Cavea of the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome. The event arose as a tribute to their common roots in the blues; in the nineties Alex and Max played together in the smoky blues clubs of all Europe. Two years after those concerts, this already exceptional duo was joined by another extraordinary musician: the French drummer Manu Katché whose curriculum boasts long collaborations with Peter Gabriel, Sting, Pink Floyd, Joe Satriani, Dire Straits and, among Italian artists, Pino Daniele and Stefano Bollani. The concert will see Gazzè, Britti and Katché together in an unusual formation. Britti, one of the most beloved songwriters of the Italian public and a phenomenal guitarist, Max Gazzè, a refined bass player, an extremely eclectic artist who succeeds in turning every one of his projects into a success and Manu Katché, a world-famous drummer: these three together for a new unmissable event.
