Tom Jones

He’s simply one of the most beautiful voices of popular music of the last half-century. A powerful, expressive, flexible voice, at ease in any musical genre, emotionally engaging. Thanks to this formidable "instrument" and an explosive stage presence, Sir Tom Jones has become, and still is, a legend after almost sixty years. He’s one of the few artists whose career started at the dawn of modern pop music in the 60s when he signed with Decca after working in different jobs. He still has the same vitality, both on stage, with overwhelming performances worldwide, and in studio, with well-received albums. His 41st studio album, “Surrounded by time”, came out last year and debuted at number one on the UK charts. Jones is the oldest artist (82) who set this record, previously held by Bob Dylan. His shows cross musical eras and genres, bringing together generations, trends, tastes, for the simple fact that this artist embodies the power of the voice. Tom Jones has expressed interest in any music. Even if his global success is bound to songs like “It’s Not Unusual”, “Kiss”, “Delilah”, “What’s New Pussycat”, “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again”, “If I Only Knew”, he is, first of all, an artist with an R&B soul. He won many prestigious awards, such as one Grammy Award, two Brit Awards (Best Male and Outstanding Contribution to Music), one Silver Clef Award (Outstanding Achievement), one Hitmaker Award, one GQ Man of the Year, one Industry Trust Award. He also received the highest honors of the UK: he was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1999 and knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2006. Six years later, he was invited to perform at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace.
