Jamie Cullum at UJ21 on July 12

With millions of records under his belt, a Grammy nomination (best vocal jazz album) and a Golden Globe nomination (the song of Gran Torino, Clint Eastwood’s film), plus numerous other awards and nominations, Jamie Cullum is today a star whose transversal popularity goes beyond codified genres.

Cullum was defined, for the tumultuous global success of ‘Twentysomething’, his third album, the British jazz artist capable of the fastest record sale in history. It was just the beginning. Over time, the label of jazzman has become increasingly cramped for Cullum who, starting from jazz (‘Pointless Nostalgic’ and ‘Twentysomething’ were the records which brought him to the attention of the general public), and thanks to a very versatile talent, has expanded his musical horizons, ranging between soul, hip hop, rock and pop.

Jamie Cullum sings, plays piano, guitar and drums, and writes songs in which he manages to mix the many influences that have marked his formation as an Essex boy in love with all good music.
