One of the great novelties of the 2019 edition of Umbria Jazz is the arrival of the festival in Via della Viola, a district in the historic town centre of Bohemian charm that has been experiencing a true “rebirth” over the last years on a cultural and economic  level with cinemas, bookshops and restaurants, all activities born of a strong hands-on process. Umbria Jazz arrives here with a programme for all ages, starting with the youngest. The Festival, in collaboration with the Umbria Region and with the Montessori-Ciabatti school, will give life to «UJ 4 kids» as part of an experimental educational programme, already in place for some time in the schools. Every morning, in the area of the association Fiorivano le Viole ((the former Balù in Via Cartolari) and in the cloister of San Fiorenzo (in Via della Viola), children will take part (beginning at 10 am and at 11.15 am) in swing lessons, rhythm and vocal workshops, musical farms, fairy tales and jazz-introductory workshops.

In the afternoon, there will be swing dance lessons starting at 6 pm while from 7.30 pm until midnight DJ sets are scheduled.

From midnight onwards, jam sessions at the Jazz Club Méliès, in the cloister of San Fiorenzo: on stage the house band formed by Piero Odorici, Daniele Scannapieco, Andrea Pozza, Aldo Zunino and Anthony Pinciotti who, in the spirit of jam sessions, will be joined by all those wanting to play.

In this location as well a snack bar will be present during all activities.
