The Delta Wires, Blues Band stays true to the spirit of blues music, which is performed with energy and entertainment. The band debuted at Umbria Jazz a few years ago. They hail from the Oakland/San Francisco Bay Area. Their sound is characterized by harmonica, horns and guitar, and their style is influenced by the blues of the Mississippi Delta (hence the name) and of Chicago.
They are very popular in California and the USA. They have received many recognitions from festivals and specialized magazines throughout their career. In December 2012, the band was inducted into the California Blues Hall of Fame. The following year, the same honor was extended to their vocalist, harmonica player and founder, Ernie Pinata. The ceremony was held at the Buddy Guy’s Legends Club in Chicago.
The Delta Wires have shared the stage with artists such as Van Morrison, John Lee Hooker, Freddie King, The Neville Bros, Dr. John, The Doobie Brothers, John Mayall, Buddy Guy & Junior Wells, and many others. Their eight albums – their latest is “If Somebody Told Me” – contain the essence of their music and the quality of their musicians. The band gives its best during enthralling and entertaining live shows.
