Marco Bardoscia “LegnoMadre”

“The message behind LegnoMadre is to stay alert to protect our Mother Earth; the wood of our beloved trees is a “sacred” material for its being alive, malleable, hard and flexible at the same time, for its ability to protect us and keep us warm, for its multitude of applications.” That’s why all the instruments of this project, starting from Bardoscia’s double bass, are made of wood.

LegnoMadre becomes the love song of wood (and the musicians) for Mother Earth.

The project is full of Latin music colors, resulting from a deep passion for Cuban and Brazilian music, which is now part of Bardoscia’s repertoire.

His regular trio becomes a quintet with the musical sensitivity of Simone Padovani (percussions) and one the greatest Italian clarinetists, Gabriele Mirabassi.

After performing with Paolo Fresu and in many other intriguing contexts, Bardoscia has become the leader of meaningful projects, musically and culturally speaking. This project is nice to listen to and an incentive to think.

For Umbria Jazz 2025, Bardoscia presents this project together with the Orchestra da Camera di Perugia.
