After 25 years of activity and over a thousand concerts, we can safely say that Funk Off have literally redefined the idea of marchin’ band in the New Orleans tradition by proposing enthralling, spectacular, modern, and engaging music and combining black music’s groove with jazz arrangements and compositions, bringing it all together with highly emotional and visual choreography. In their wake, many bands have been formed in Italy and abroad, but the energy, grit and synergy of Funk Off combined with the originality of their music, written and arranged by band founder and leader Dario Cecchini, are unique and inimitable!
They have been the official marchin’ band at Umbria Jazz for 15 years, and they have performed at the most important European festivals as well as in Australia, China, the USA, South Africa, Brazil and Japan. They have also participated in several TV shows and worked with many pop and jazz artists, such as Mika and Gino Paoli. The band recorded its ninth album with Paoli in 2021, “Groovin with Paoli”.
