Anteprima | UJ4KIDS presents Bourbon Street al Borgobello

Once again this year, from July 8-16, Umbria Jazz will have a daily section of initiatives (workshops, education, entertainment) for the youngsters, continuing the well-established tradition called UJ4KIDS: a festival within the festival.

This year is its fifth edition: UJ4KIDS stands as a service and reference activity for public schools with musical orientation, music schools and professional associations, as well as teachers, families, pediatricians and musicians.

The 2023 edition of UJ4KIDS will have a premiere: the best members of the local music schools and their teachers will literally take to the streets for a musical feast that will turn the Borgo XX Giugno district into a sort of Bourbon Street of New Orleans. Soloists and bands will perform non-stop.

From July 8, the garden area of the Arena Santa Giuliana will host workshops or entertainment for the youngsters to promote an approach to jazz music and its instrument besides the knowledge of the voice and body. There will also be performances of the music schools, including one dedicated to Wayne Shorter, who recently passed away.

As per tradition, there will be activities for all ages, including babies and pregnant women, for which dedicated music activities have been scheduled with the support of the Associazione Culturale Pediatri (Cultural Association of Pediatricians) through the project called “Nati per la Musica”.
