The New Orleans Mystics

The New Orleans Mystics define themselves as a versatile vocal group that performs a repertoire of the classics of R&B, soul, disco, jazz and Motown from the 1940s until today. Backed by their great band, they put their own personal stamp on every song and make it their own. Entertainment is the Mystics’ main vocation, along with the versatility and expertise that let them master any shows.

Formed in the 70s by two brothers and other friends, the band stood out in different school talent shows and became famous by singing the hits by The Temptations, the Dramatics, the Chi-Lites and others: artists who were popular at that time, and they are classics now.

Two of the original members, Billy Mims and Lee Barnes, and later joined by Michael Baptiste in 1975, still currently share stages. Anthony Mims sadly passed away in 2001. Their lineup changed many times until Freddie Johnson joined the band in 2013, but they have always remained true to their musical identity since they were formed more than forty years ago.
