Dante Alighieri’s 700th Anniversary “INFERNO” | live soundtrack to Francesco Bertolini’s film (1911) texts by Dante Alighieri recited by Alessandro Anderloni

Dante’s celebrations (seven centuries after his death) are an important part of the Italian cultural life, and not only. Umbria Jazz takes part in it with the project by Mauro Ottolini, whose originality is a crucial feature of his own artistic identity.

Ottolini and the Sousaphonix ensemble has composed a new live soundtrack to an Italian film masterpiece, “Inferno”, the 1911 silent movie directed by Francesco Bertolini, Giuseppe De Liguoro and Adolfo Padovan. A blockbuster portraying rather faithfully, with some licenses, Dante’s Inferno. The movie has been recently restored by the Cineteca di Bologna.
