Rita Marcotulli – Dado Moroni piano duo
The formula of the piano duo has always been charming. If the two pianists are Rita Marcotulli and Dado Moroni, it’s a special event. This state-of-the-art duo is formed by two great musicians of the Italian and international jazz scene who boast extraordinary careers.
The lady of the Italian jazz in recent years has worked on many interesting projects. Among them: Caravaggianti, a work which moves across the board and freely to pay tribute to the genius of Caravaggio; her collaboration with Maria Pia De Vito on Joni Mitchell’s songs; the concerts of Gino Paoli and Massimo Ranieri; the trio of Giovanni Tommaso dedicated to Gershwin; BAM with the Alborada String Quartet and Marco Bardoscia; her participation in the charity festival which took place in Assisi after the earthquake that struck Norcia.
Dado Moroni is one of the most appreciated and sought-after Italian players in America. His early talent, which made him enter the world of jazz music as a child prodigy, explains the number and quality of his collaboration: among others, Ron Carter, Chet Baker, Dizzy Gillespie, Freddie Hubbard, Ray Brown.
