Fabrizio Bosso Quartet “We Wonder” special guest Nico Gori

Fabrizio Bosso Quartet “We Wonder”
with Julian Oliver Mazzariello, Jacopo Ferrazza, Nicola Angelucci
special guest Nico Gori

Let’s return to May 13, 2022: Fabrizio Bosso releases his cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Overjoyed”. The date is not random. May 13 is Stevie Wonder’s birthday. That song was just a preview of a much more ambitious project: an album dedicated to Wonder. The album led to a series of live events. “We Wonder” is very autobiographical since Stevie Wonder was the idol of teenage Bosso, and it is also thanks to him that he chose to become a musician. The tracklist focuses on the songs from “Songs in the Key of Life”, Wonder’s masterpiece, but it ranges from past and future and traces a representative path of Wonder’s career. Bosso knows these songs, and it’s clear: as old jazzmen used to say, if you want to play a standard well, you have to know the lyrics, not just the chords. For this tribute, the trumpeter from Turin has chosen the quartet, a solid and refined band over the years, album after album, concert after concert, up to an ultimate and rare level of perfection. Plus, clarinetist and tenor saxophonist Nico Gori will perform as special guest. Gori’s contribution is fundamental, more than a mere addition of an instrument, and the trumpet and clarinet interplay are among the project’s best moments.

Once again, Bosso stands out on the international jazz scene as one of the most inspiring and exciting Italian musicians.
