Born from trombonist Massimo Pirone’s passion for jazz and swing, the quartet (Clara Simonoviez on vocals, Leonardo Disco on piano and Carlo Battisti on drums) moves confidently within the repertoire of legends such as Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, and many others. The quartet will perform on Sunday with Claudio Gregori, aka Greg, as the special guest.
The union between Claudio “Greg” Gregori and Massimo Pirone led to the album “A Swingin’ Affaire” in 2021: swing and cheerfulness to the nth degree accompanied by a fourteen-member big band. Pirone is a great versatile artist: he has been playing for years in the RAI Orchestra for the Sanremo Festival, he worked in all of Gigi Proietti’s theater tours, and he has recorded with Ennio Morricone, Luis Enríquez Bacalov and Nicola Piovani. Greg is known for playing in the demented rock band ‘Latte & i Suoi Derivati’ with his comedy partner Pasquale Petrolo, aka Lillo.
