Olivia Trummer & Nicola Angelucci “Dialogue’s Delight”

Olivia Trummer and Nicola Angelucci met on stage at the Val di Fassa Panorama Music Jazz Festival, in the splendid setting of the Dolomites, during Trummer’s first Italian tour in 2016. The two artists’ harmony was immediate and formed a close-knit duo. Their repertoire features original pieces as well as personal versions of jazz and non-jazz standards.

Their album, “Dialogue’s Delight”, was released a few months ago.

Olivia Trummer was born in Stuttgart, where she started studying classical piano at four. She soon showed a great interest in jazz, improvised music and composition. She continued her studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York. The formative years spent in the world capital of jazz and her deep bond with classical music are the basis of her inspiration. The discovery of her vocation as a singer and songwriter completed her musical identity.

Nicola Angelucci has been the drummer of the Fabrizio Bosso quartet since 2013. Besides Olvia Trummer, he regularly collaborates with Bebo Ferra, Rosario Bonaccorso and Dado Moroni. Angelucci is a highly demanded sideman: he has played with Benny Golson (they performed together in Italy and abroad from 2004 to 2011), Wynton Marsalis, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Steve Grossman, Peter Bernstein and John Hicks. He is also one of the few drummers with the vision and stature of a leader. His debut album under his name was partially recorded in New York in 2010; his third one, including original pieces, was released two years ago and recorded with a quartet including Trummer, Gabriele Mirabassi and Luca Bulgarelli.
