🔴 Update: Jazz Club Perugia 2020/2021 cancelled
“Confirmation” feat Francesco Cafiso with Alessandro Presti, Andrea Pozza, Aldo Zunino and Luca Caruso
2020 is an important year for the world of jazz: the centenary of the birth of Charlie Parker. Modern jazz was born with Bird and, after him, African-American music would never be the same again. A legendary figure, for his human aspects of his short life but most of all for the positively devastating impact that his arrival had on the world of music, even beyond jazz. The Jazz Club Perugia, which has always been bound to the aesthetics of bebop, couldn’t but capture the influence of the anniversary, also, and perhaps more importantly, in spite of the restrictions that the wretched year of Coronavirus imposed to the event organisers. In order to make it as best as possible, the Club called Francesco Cafiso, one of the Italian musicians who, since the beginning of his career, has proved to be close to the Parker’s models. Together with him, as a quintet, great names of Italian jazz: Alessandro Presti, Andrea Pozza, Aldo Zunino and Luca Caruso.
