Umbria Jazz 2014
Perugia, 11 - 20 July 2014
Umbria Jazz has become a point of reference in the world of music and music festivals. It is also widely held to be Italy’s finest music festival and one of the best internationally. Since the festival first began in 1973 a great deal has changed, but not its spirit and identity which, combined with the quality of its programmes, are behind its success.
Proof of this can be had by looking at the names on this year’s edition of the programme, which takes place in Perugia from 11 to 20 July: there are legends from the world of jazz Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter, from funk Dr. John, the great voices of Al Jarreau, Mario Biondi, Natalie Cole and Fiorella Mannoia, great pianists like Michel Camilo and HiromI, Italian jazz stars like Stefano Bollani, PAOLO Fresu and Danilo Rea, together with Roots, making their exclusive Italian appearance, plus many, many more.
