The program of Teatro Morlacchi at UJ24
Jazz music remains the central part of the Festival’s program. It finds its perfect setting at Teatro Morlacchi, where the audience can appreciate the best Italian and international artists of this genre.
Enrico Rava‘s quintet combines young and creative energies with his massive experience as a band leader; Paolo Fresu returns with his Devil Quartet; Fabrizio Bosso presents his new project About Ten; Alessandro Lanzoni plays with Francesco Cafiso; Dado Moroni is joined by Eddie Gomez and Joe La Barbera. All these artists represent the best that Italian jazz music has to offer.
There are also plenty of international names: jazz legend Charles Lloyd with a quartet whose pianist is Jason Moran, Kenny Barron, one of the most respected American pianists, Christian Sands, one of the protagonists of the contemporary jazz scene, Kurt Rosenwinkel‘s quartet, an all-star ensemble of musicians, Something Else!, a band featuring seven musicians with a rotating lineup selected among the best experts of modern mainstream, and Lizz Wright, who returns to the Festival after her debut in 2005.
