Aura Safari

Aura Safari is a collective consisting of Nicholas Iammatteo, Lorenzo Lavoratori, Andrea Moretti, and Daniele Melloni, producers and DJs, along with musicians Lorenzo Francioli, Ruggero Bonucci, and Nicola Pitassio. Their music is an eclectic fusion of different historical periods of dance music and a variety of influences, including jazz-fusion, 80’s boogie, world music, italo disco, balearic beats, and jazz-funk. This fusion is perfectly represented in their self-titled debut double LP released on London’s Church Records in 2019. Following the success of their first album, they released the EPs “Hotel Mediterraneo” and “Lagos Connect” on Hell Yeah Recordings, a series of jazz funk 45s on the Terrasolare label, and their second album, “Island Dreams,” on Hell Yeah Recordings. Their latest release is a collaborative album with Finnish musician Jimi Tenor, born after Tenor performed at a Hell Yeah party in Perugia. The two artists found common ground in the studio, resulting in the album “Sensory Blending.” Aura Safari’s DJ set are an odyssey through sunny landscapes of analog funk, filled with synths, percussion, guitars, and drum machines. Additionally, Aura Safari curates their monthly radio show “Tropical Climax” on England’s 1BTN Radio, where they present eclectic selections blending boogie rarities, obscure disco, house music classics, afro cosmic, instrumental tracks with an italo flavor, and unexpected covers.
