Kind Of Bill
feat. with Dado Moroni, Joe La Barbera, Eddie Gomez

Bill Evans passed away 44 years ago, but his music still lives for jazz players and listeners. Every modern pianist – especially in the trio formula – is inspired by Evans’ musical legacy.

Dado Moroni has never hidden his love for Evans’ music, and Kind of Bill is the title of his tribute (this is a clear reference to “Kind of Blue”, of which Evans was part). The trio is enriched by bassist Eddie Gomez, who spent eleven years with the Bill Evans Trio (1966-1977) and drummer Joe La Barbera, who played with Evans in the final years of his career (1979-1980). About Moroni, Gomez says, “Dado is the right person for a tribute to Bill”. Moroni is one of the most appreciated and sought-after Italian jazz pianists and one of the most renowned abroad. Besides his collaborations with the greatest jazz artists, he played with pop stars such as Karima, Lucio Dalla, Eros Ramazzotti and Ornella Vanoni.

“Kind of Blue” is also a live album recorded in Sanremo.
