Chris Potter, one of the most charismatic saxophonists of his generation, an artist who “employs his considerable technique in the service of music rather than spectacle” (The New Yorker), joins Brad Mehldau, “the most influential jazz pianist of the last 20 years” (The New York Times), to create – together with John Patitucci (double bass) and Johnathan Blake (drums) – a new quartet, which is recognized as a proper super band. The quartet represents at best the jazz music being played in the 2000s. It’s hard to find better nowadays. The music of these four artists is immediate, creative and intense. Different artistic paths and a common desire to explore new territories are well combined. Jazz fans look forward to listening to the upcoming album “Eagle’s Point” featuring Potter, Mehldau, Patitucci and Brian Blade on drums (March 2024).
