Jean-René Palacio, the artistic director of Société des Bains de Mer of Monaco and Jazz à Juan, died yesterday, Tuesday May 25th. During his first Monte-Carlo Summer Festival, twenty years ago, he brought young future stars, including Vanessa Paradis, Pascal Obispo and Etienne Daho, and legends such as James Brown and Diana Ross. He passed away at the age of 67.

He became a naturalized Monegasque citizen in 2020 together with his wife by Albert II, Prince of Monaco. Jean-René Palacio was able to merge elegance and rock ‘n’ roll attitude, good spirits, and artistic strictness. He leaves a great void in the heart of his countless friends and all the music lovers, no matter the genre. The only thing that mattered to him in choosing artists and programs was quality.

All the UJ family remembers him with great esteem and affection.
